Today’s topic hurls me into fits! There is nothing more frustrating and frightening to me than not knowing what’s coming next. Impatient control-freaks need answers and a modicum of certainty. God doesn’t oblige me.
I plead and pray for answers about where my life will be in 6 months, 12 months, 5 years. Now I’m dangling on a hook over an abyss of uncertainty. I throw a toddler fit…
Breathe…
Intellectually I know God has a plan. He desires an abundant life for me. The emotional flesh burns for a 5 year plan.
Intellectually I sense God pushing me to relax and fall into His arms. The emotional flesh says to God, “Uh before we do that, could I just get a rough draft of the 5 year plan, preferably in color, hole-punched with a Table of Contents? Yeah, that would really help me out.”
Can you envision God rolling His eyes? I can.
Upon reflection of the past 10 years, I clearly see God’s hand in my life. Doors line up for me to merely walk through, room after room filled with blessings.
It started with Montessori. When my kid was a toddler he attended a Montessori school. He thrived. So when God called me to homeschool, I knew just what curriculum to use!
Next, because we homeschool, we joined a Christian homeschool co-op. My kid has made wonderful friends of all ages. I’ve made Biblical friends who desire to share life’s journey. What a blessing they have been to me! These women have made me a better follower of Christ.
Next, a few of these same Biblical women introduced me to Proverb 31 Ministries. This eventually led me to their website and then COMPEL training. COMPEL teaches writers about the craft of writing.
Now it gets interesting.
I felt the urge to blog many years ago, but couldn’t decide on my subject matter. Because the medical establishment failed me, I was driven into a holistic health lifestyle.
Look what God can do. How can you not be amazed?!
“Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.
For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks
finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened...If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him!” Matt. 7:7-8, 11
Embrace God’s plan for your life:
- Seek God’s Will. Asking from a place of selfishness leads to silence from God. You need to search for God’s Will in your life and those that you love. (Matt. 6:33)
- Faith. A mustard seed of faith is all you need!
- Stand ready. God will call you to do things for which you are not prepared yet will ultimately equip you. Be ready to step into the unknown. (Heb. 13:20-21)
- Be amazed. Well this is just obvious!
Does God have amazing things planned for your life? You can count on it.
